We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in mold making, pulp molding, and the pulp and paper industries. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical systems, material processing, and the design and optimization of molds used in pulp-based manufacturing processes. You will work closely with design teams, production departments, and quality control to ensure the efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacture of products. Your expertise will be vital in enhancing production processes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Mold Design and Fabrication:
Design, develop, and optimize molds for pulp molding and other related manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with design and production teams to develop prototypes and tooling for new products.
Ensure that mold designs adhere to engineering standards,
product specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
Lead the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of molds to maximize efficiency and product quality.
Pulp Molding Process Optimization:
Analyze and optimize pulp molding processes to improve product quality, reduce waste,
and enhance production efficiency.
Develop and implement new technologies to improve molding processes and reduce downtime.
Monitor and control key process parameters, ensuring consistency and stability in production.
Mechanical Engineering Support:
Provide mechanical engineering support for manufacturing operations,
including machine and process troubleshooting.
Design and modify mechanical systems for improved performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
Project Management:
Lead projects related to mold fabrication, new product development, or process improvements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, maintenance, and quality control)
to ensure timely delivery of projects.
Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering projects while maintaining timelines
and budgets.
Material Selection and Testing:
Select appropriate materials for molds and pulp products, considering factors such as strength, durability,
and environmental impact.
Conduct material testing and validation to ensure that final products meet all quality and safety standards.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure all designs, processes, and products meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality control efforts by providing engineering support during inspections and audits.
Implement and maintain safety standards in the design and operation of all equipment and processes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on mold making, pulp molding,
or the pulp and paper industry.
Proven track record of designing and optimizing molds for pulp-based manufacturing processes.
Experience in process optimization, equipment troubleshooting,
and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing molds and mechanical systems.
Strong understanding of material properties, particularly in pulp-based materials.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
Project management experience with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining budget constraints.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in mold making and pulp molding.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Familiarity with automation systems and modern manufacturing technologies.
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional travel to supplier sites and production facilities.
Hands-on work in a manufacturing or industrial setting, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
